Home / Desks / Finance / Private equity
A private-equity site with different rooms for partners and founders.
A limited partner checking capital calls is not a founder selling a company, and the homepage should not give them one room. Investors@ is the limited partner who already holds a commitment. Ir@ receives a question from a founder or from an institution the firm already knows, and it does not solicit a stranger. Operations@ handles a capital call notice for partners already on the books. Placement, if the firm does it, stays described as the firm's work.
A limited partner and a selling founder
Two doors, labeled with the roles. A limited partner writes investors@ about an existing commitment: a distribution notice, a contact change, a reporting login. A founder writes ir@ about a company the firm might already be looking at, and the page says might, not will. The founder form asks for the introduction path the firm actually uses. It does not say the firm is seeking companies from the open web. Operations@ is not a founder inbox.
Do not print a target fund size, a multiple, or a story about a company the studio invented. If the firm publishes a portfolio, the firm supplies the names and the sentence it can stand behind. Ir@ does not become a solicitation engine because the page looks quiet. A line that says the firm is not soliciting investors through this website belongs near the top. Limited partners who are already in are not the audience of that warning, and the page can say that too.
Capital calls are not a public solicitation
A capital call is a notice to people already committed. Operations@ sends or receives the operational question: the date on the notice, the entity name, and where the partner's records disagree. Investors@ is copied when the relationship contact needs to see it. The call is not posted for the public, and the amounts are not retyped onto the site. A prospect who finds a call template has found too much. Do not post the template.
Placement work, when it is real, gets one sentence: the firm may introduce a security under its own permissions, and inquiries from parties the firm does not know are not accepted on this form. Ir@ can say the firm will not treat a website message as a subscription. The studio does not place, does not raise, and does not take a finder's role. Founders and limited partners stay in the rooms already named.
Placement work stays in the firm's hands
If the firm does not do placement, do not use the word. A decorative services list that includes placement is a solicitation the firm may not intend. If it does the work, name the kind of party it already speaks to and the inbox, ir@, and stop. No data room link for strangers. No teaser document drafted here. Investors@ remains the limited partner service door and should not be the upload bin for a company sale.
Operations@ will not explain a capital call to a reporter or to a person who is not already a limited partner. The public reply is a refusal. Parties the firm already knows can be pointed to ir@. The firm decides who that is. Hedge fund and wealth pages are neighbors, not side doors into a private offering. Keep those links labeled as other desks.
Authority fits a private-equity firm that must keep limited partners at investors@, founders at ir@, and capital calls off the public page.
Motus does not raise a fund, solicit an investor, or promise a multiple.
The package

Questions
- Are a limited partner and a founder the same private equity visitor?
- No. Investors@ serves a limited partner who already holds a commitment. Ir@ takes a founder or an institution the firm already knows, and the page does not solicit a stranger. Operations@ is capital-call operations, not a founder inbox. One room for both is the mistake.
- Where does a capital call question go at a private equity desk?
- Operations@ takes the notice date, the entity, and a records mismatch from partners already on the books. Amounts are not retyped on the site, and the template is not posted. Investors@ is copied when the relationship contact must see it. Prospects do not get the notice.
- What placement work will this equity page refuse to perform?
- All of it, on this website. If the firm places under its own permissions, one sentence can say so and point known parties to ir@. A website message is not a subscription. The studio does not raise a fund, place a security, or promise a multiple.
- Who is allowed to read an investor file on the private side?
- Investors@ reads a limited partner already in. Ir@ does not collect a data room from the open web. A line near the top says the firm is not soliciting investors through the site. Portfolio names appear only when the firm supplies a sentence it will own.
