Seller financials sent at night need a private inbox.

After dark, a seller's financials land in the public buyer inbox and sit there until someone notices the mistake. That file is confidential. buyers@ is for people asking how to start a conversation. sellers@ is where the numbers go. businesses@ can catch anything that is still unsorted. Motus will not value the company, will not promise a sale, and does not open the books.

Night numbers need a private door

A seller who finally sends financials at night is trusting the address on the screen. If that address is buyers@, the trust was misplaced, even if nobody hostile is reading. The public buyer pile is the wrong room for returns, bank statements, and a customer list. sellers@ is the room. The page should say this beside the upload, at the hour the seller is actually awake, which means the sentence has to be on the site before night.

businesses@ is the unsorted introduction, useful before anyone has decided to exchange numbers. Once numbers are involved, the path switches to sellers@. buyers@ stays available for a person asking how a conversation starts, and the auto-reply there should say that financials are not accepted at that address. Motus can write that refusal into the reply. We will not store a valuation model on the page, because we do not have one.

Confidential is a routing word

Calling a file confidential and then emailing it to a public buyer list is the failure. The word has to change the address. The form can require the sender to confirm they are the seller or the seller's advisor before an upload control even appears, and that control posts to sellers@. A buyer who checks the seller box to see numbers is a conduct problem the firm handles. The website's job is not to make the box easy to fake for convenience.

Say on the page what confidential does not mean. It does not mean Motus has a data room. It does not mean a buyer has been screened. It means the firm asked for a separate door and we built the door. Screening is a person's work. businesses@ can still explain, in public, the kinds of companies the desk will look at, without examples that identify a live seller.

No price and no sale promise

Sellers ask what the company is worth before they will send a file. The page should not answer. A range is still a valuation. A multiple is still a valuation. Strong interest is a sale promise with the date missing. Leave all three off. Invite the seller to sellers@ with the financials the firm actually needs, and let a person decide whether the desk can help. The website cannot decide that.

Buyers asking for a glimpse of every company on the desk are asking for a catalog. This page is not a catalog. buyers@ can explain how to ask about a specific situation the firm chooses to describe, one at a time, with the seller's permission. Motus will not assemble the catalog, will not name a price, and will not tell either side that a closing is likely. Likely is not a fact we possess.

Authority fits a business-sale desk that must keep night-sent financials in a seller inbox and keep every valuation off the public page.

Motus is not a real-estate licensee. We do not list a property, quote a price, or promise a closing.

Questions

Where do night-sent business financials go on the site?
To sellers@, never to buyers@. The public buyer address is the wrong room for returns, statements, and customer lists. businesses@ is only the unsorted introduction before numbers move. Motus can put that warning beside the upload. We do not value the file.
How should a business sale page protect the seller?
By showing the upload only after the sender confirms they are the seller or the seller's advisor, and by posting that upload to sellers@. Confidential has to change the address. Motus builds the door. Screening buyers is the firm's work, not a public gallery.
Will Motus name a price for the company being sold?
No. A range, a multiple, and a line about strong interest are all valuations or sale promises. sellers@ can receive the financials a person needs in order to decide whether the desk can help. Motus will not store a model and will not predict a closing.
What stays out of the public buyer inbox overnight?
The seller's financials. buyers@ may explain how a conversation starts, and its reply should refuse attachments of numbers. One company, described with the seller's permission, is not a catalog of every file. Motus will not assemble that catalog or name a price.
