A timber site that starts from the mill tally.

A mill tally with the species column still empty is the paper on the desk, and the website should ask for species and tally before it asks for a story. mills@ receives that sheet. timber@ receives the commercial note. buyers@ is for a buyer the desk already knows. Motus will not quote a board foot, will not claim a forest, and will not pretend this studio runs a mill.

A mill tally names the species

The tally is the object. The page asks for species and for the tally the mill already prepared, and it points that file to mills@. timber@ is the commercial note. buyers@ is a buyer the desk already knows how to talk to. Do not ask the form for a board-foot price. Do not convert the tally into a price in the confirmation email. The confirmation says the note arrived. It does not say the wood is sold.

Species names should be the firm's list, not a textbook list Motus pasted in. If the desk handles a few species, name those few. A long list implies a yard and a price book you do not have. Motus has no yard and no mill. The firm may describe a mill relationship in its own words. The caption under any mill photo should not invent production or a price per thousand.

Buyers and mills do not share one form

A mill sending a tally is not a buyer asking what is available. mills@ gets the tally, the species, and the contact at the mill. buyers@ gets a buyer note and should say it is not where tallies are priced. One form with a dropdown called role will be ignored. Two forms, two addresses, two labels. timber@ remains for a commercial note that is neither a tally nor a buyer hello. The firm already has that third door. Put it in the menu with a dull label.

Do not offer a price on the buyer form and a different price on the mill form. Offer no price on either. The mill does not need to see a public offer that undercuts a private conversation, and the buyer does not need a number Motus made up. Species and tally are enough to start. The firm replies with whatever commercial answer it is willing to send, from its own mailbox, not from a studio address.

No board-foot price on the page

Board foot, if the firm uses the unit, can be the unit on the tally field. It cannot be a currency. Write the field as tally, species, and mill contact. Leave the dollar off. A calculator that multiplies board feet by a price is a quoting tool, and this studio does not ship one. If the old site has that calculator, the new site does not inherit it.

timber@ can explain, in a short paragraph, which species the commercial desk discusses and which it does not. mills@ does not need that essay. It needs the upload or the email instruction. buyers@ needs a sentence that availability is not listed online. No inventory table, no reserved lots, no delivered price. The firm may have all of those in a private sheet. The public page points to the right inbox and stops.

Authority fits a timber desk that collects species and tally at mills@, and that refuses to print a board-foot number for buyers.

Motus does not buy or sell a commodity, quote a price, or arrange a physical delivery.

Questions

What should a timber page ask for on the mill tally?
Species, the tally the mill prepared, and a mill contact, sent to mills@. Do not ask for a board-foot price. timber@ is the commercial note. buyers@ is not where tallies are priced. Motus has no mill and will not convert the tally into money in the confirmation.
Does Motus quote a board foot price on a lumber page?
No. Board foot may be the unit on a tally field. It is not a currency, and there is no calculator that multiplies it by a price. If the old site had that tool, the new site does not inherit it. No delivered price is posted.
Which inbox should receive species and tally from a mill?
mills@, with the species names the firm actually handles, not a textbook list. buyers@ gets a separate form and no price. timber@ is for a commercial note that is neither a tally nor a buyer hello. Two forms are the point. One dropdown will be ignored.
How should a timber buyer write differently from a mill?
A buyer uses buyers@ and should be told that availability is not listed online. A mill uses mills@ and sends the tally. Neither form collects a price. The firm replies from its own mailbox if it wants to. Motus made up no number and will not send one.
