Why a Gmail address loses trucking work

A free inbox is fine for a personal note. It is a weak from-address on a rate confirmation, a certificate request, or a driver application. The fix is not a new slogan. It is email on the domain that matches the website.

What the other side sees

A broker opening five packets can sort them in a minute. Legal name, USDOT, a phone that matches, a site that loads, and an email that ends in the company domain. A Gmail address is not illegal. It is the item that makes the rest look unfinished.

The same thing happens with recruiting. A driver who is choosing between two companies will trust the one that writes from recruiting@ the company, not from a personal account that might be anyone.

What not to do

Do not buy a lookalike of another carrier's domain. Do not put a government seal on the email signature. Do not tell shippers that Motus or FMCSA issued the inbox. We are a private studio. Official Motus is only motus.dot.gov.

Do not forward everything into one hidden personal mailbox and then forget it. The point of separate addresses is that safety mail and load mail do not bury each other. Forwarding is fine if a person still answers.

The practical setup

We publish the site, open the few mailboxes the company needs, and print those addresses on the contact page. The website package prices stay $274, $597, and $1,197. A mailbox provider's own fee is quoted first. Hosting after year one is $150 a year.

If you only want the email and you already have a site you intend to keep, say that on the intake. We will not sell you pages you do not need.

Most carriers start with Starter or Growth and three mailboxes. Brokers who quote shippers all day usually need Authority, because the site has more than a phone number to explain.

The package

Starter is $274, Growth is $597, and Authority is $1,197. Each price is one time. Year-1 hosting is included, then hosting is $150 a year. Company email on your domain is part of a transportation launch. A mailbox-provider seat fee and a registrar's domain fee are quoted before they start. The breakdown is on what a trucking website costs.

Questions

Is Gmail against FMCSA rules?
No. A free inbox is a commercial impression problem, not a filing defect. Motus does not require a website or a particular email host.
Can I keep receiving mail at the old Gmail?
Yes. We can forward it while the company addresses become the ones on the site and the truck.
How many mailboxes do I need on day one?
Usually dispatch, safety, and billing. Add recruiting when you hire. Add more when a real job appears, not before.
Will you read my email?
No. The mailboxes are the company's. We set them up. We do not sit in the inbox.
