How to show a USDOT and MC number on your website
Brokers search the number. The website should show the same number, spelled the same way, next to the legal name. That is the whole trick. Motus will put it on the page. We will not obtain it, and we will not decorate it with a federal seal.
Show the identifier. Do not impersonate the agency.
Plain text is best: legal name, USDOT, MC if you have one, and the city. A small line that you are a private company, not the government, is appropriate on a site that uses the word Motus. This studio is not affiliated with FMCSA, USDOT, or motus.dot.gov.
Link the number to a public lookup if you want. Motus Directory is the sister lookup site. The filing site is motus.dot.gov. They are not the same, and the page should not blur them.
Update the page when the record changes
A new MC, a name change, or a closed authority should change the website in the same week. We do not watch the federal record for you. Tell us, or edit it if you already have the keys. Publishing a dead number is worse than publishing none.
The guide, if you are still sorting out the system
If the question is what Motus the registration system is, read the guides. They explain the filing world and they repeat the rule: a website is not required to claim a USDOT. It is a commercial decision. Start with the guide on whether Motus requires a website, then come back here when you want the page built.
Any of the three packages can show the numbers. The package decides how many other pages you get, not whether the DOT is allowed on the page.
The package
Starter is $274, Growth is $597, and Authority is $1,197. Each price is one time. Year-1 hosting is included, then hosting is $150 a year. Company email on your domain is part of a transportation launch. A mailbox-provider seat fee and a registrar's domain fee are quoted before they start. The breakdown is on what a trucking website costs.

Questions
- Can you look up my number and file a correction?
- We can read what you send and what is already public. Corrections to the record are filed by you on motus.dot.gov.
- Should a broker show a USDOT?
- If you have one, yes, the same way: plain text, legal name, no seal. Brokers have a different page on this site for the rest of the site.
- What if my number is pending?
- Say pending, or wait. Do not print a number that is not issued.
- Do you share logins to make the numbers match?
- No. We never ask for Motus or Login.gov passwords.
